Youth battling leukemia gets laptop and music from Louisiana wish granting group
Demarcus Green, a 9 year old from Ferriday, Louisiana suffering from leukemia had his wish granted for a new laptop by the non-profit group A Child's Wish of Louisiana which has been granting wishes to Louisiana children since 1982.
NEW ORLEANS, LA, May 05, 2010 /Louisiana PR News/ -- Demarcus Green is a bright eyed 9 year old boy from Ferriday, Louisiana. He really loves his music and has lots of time to enjoy it especially when he is resting in between treatments for leukemia at Children's Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. So when A Child's Wish of Louisiana volunteers Lenny and Clark Alsfeld met Demarcus, it didn't take long to find out exactly what he wanted!
A Child's Wish donated to Demarcus a brand new laptop so he could play games and download music whenever he wanted. He also received $60 worth of music downloads and wasted no time purchasing songs from his favorite artists Lil Wayne and Ludacris.
The Alsfeld team also helped Demarcus setup an email address with his nickname in it "Poppa" so he could stay in touch with his friends and family.
A Child's Wish is a Louisiana based non-profit organization that fulfills the wishes of Louisiana children with critical illnesses. The group has helped hundreds of children since its inception in 1982 and is an entirely volunteer run organization. A Child's Wish relies exclusively on the generosity of private donors, fundraising and grants in order to continue providing wishes for children.
